Jennifer - Wife, Mother, Gaming Queen

My name is Jennifer Savitska Miller (Savitska’s Lithuanian in case you were wondering). I live in Atlanta, Georgia with my fabulously handsome, hilarious and loving husband Seth and my adorable daughter Raelyn Michelle. We have a cozy home filled with toys, books, music and best of all: our Tivo.
We also have an extremely patient Weimaraner named Lucy who doesn’t mind at all having her ears or lips pulled or being jumped on and hugged by a toddler, nope not at all. Our cats on the other hand are a different story. Desmond is doing fairly well with the adjustment to having a little one in the house. After all, nobody’s gonna run him outta town! But poor Penelope, our calico princess, has spent most of the last two years hiding under the bed.
During the weekdays you’ll most likely find me either watching cartoons or playing online games; and no, I’m not a stay at home mom. I am fortunate enough to get paid to help think up and create web games for CartoonNetwork.com. An employee goal listed in my job description is actually to make sure I watch at least two hours of cartoons a month. No seriously, it says that. How I landed where I am I’m not so sure, but I have no doubt there’s no where else I’m supposed to be.
In my spare time we, as a family, can often be found visiting with either my parents or Seth’s parents since they both live here in town. Fortunately enough for us this means free babysitting! And for Raelyn I couldn’t ask for anything better than to have her know her grandparents so intimately as she does by getting to see them so often.
The rest of my family you ask? Why I’m the youngest of five - yep, the baby. I have two older brothers and two older sisters all scattered across the country. We get together as often as we can, but not as often as I’d like. Life is hectic, I tell ya! …especially when you’re the mother of a toddler.
I entered into motherhood on April 26, 2003 when my world turned upside down and the newest love of my life entered the world - Raelyn Michelle. Elizabeth Stone once uttered a famous quote that I think provides the best representation I’ve heard of what parenthood feels like:
“Making the decision to have a child–it’s momentous. It is to decide to have your heart go walking around outside your body.”
I couldn’t imagine my life without her and I don’t want to go another day not knowing her.
And lastly, my husband Seth. I haven’t got the words to describe how immensely important this man… this person… is to me. He’s my best friend and the best person I’ve ever known. You’d be lucky to meet him one day. I still can’t believe he agreed to spend the rest of his life with me - and we tied the knot over five years ago. Like Sarah McLochlin said, his love is better than ice cream. And that’s saying A LOT for me.
