Priceless Art
My baby girl constructed her very first piece of ‘kid art’ today. This morning at school the infant room had an art project - they traced Raelyn’s hands on a piece of paper. Her teacher said that she held her hands very still and watched as they were traced. Then they wrote out her name and the date. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it. I got a bit emotional - I’ll admit it. I just can’t fathom how quickly time is passing and how big my little baby is getting. I’m not sure what I’ll do with this masterpiece. I could frame it, or I could just stick it on the fridge like any other proud parent. Hmm… I could frame it on the fridge! ;p Either way it will be saved and cherished for years to come. Someday I’ll have her place her hand over the top of those tracings and I’m sure I’ll start crying at the sight of how different in size they will be. I’m just happy I am doing what I can to make these memories last. Photos, hand/footprints, video… it all seems so arbitrary now, but down the road it will become priceless.
